The Institute Of Municipal Assessors (IMA) is pleased to announce a new errors & omissions liability insurance program for those members who require such coverage. This program has been designed for IMA members engaged in providing property assessment and taxation services, and representation at property and taxation tribunals within the Province of Ontario. The program is competitive, provides superior service, and has been specially designed to meet the needs of the IMA membership.
The IMA has selected Insurance Portfolio Inc. as the insurance broker, and ENCON Insurance Managers as the underwriters for this program.
Some of the details of this coverage are as follows:
- Policy wordings compliant with the Law Society of Upper Canada (LSUC) requirements.
- Exclusive and lowest premiums/rates.
- A 2-year policy.
- Flexibility of liability limits.

- Retirement/Death/Disability/Cessation of Business Endorsement available.
- Penal Defense Reimbursement sublimit of $50,000 included.
- No retroactive date for new claims taken against prior service.

We are proud to announce a new Errors & Omissions program, again through Encon, for those members of the Institute Of Municipal Assessors (IMA) who provide advisory services in their area of property assessment expertise and includes appearances at assessment hearings as an expert witness in assessment matters and other services customary to these practices and who are not licensed or regulated by the Law Society Of Upper Canada.
